Frequently asked questions!
Q: "My student's recent report card held rather low grades, what can I do to fix this?"
A: I myself struggled early in school especially in the areas of math and writing so I'd like to think of myself as pretty understanding. Due to this I've listed a few extra credit opportunities here on this page through worksheet completion. You can choose up to three different worksheets and if they're done properly, I will replace the three lowest in-class activity grades of the same point range at the time of turn-in. Other opportunities will be given throughout the year, for any other questions involving this please E-mail me!
Q: "My student has allergies, what should I do?"
A: Firstly it's always best to notify the office, they'll make sure the important places (such as the cafeteria and the nurse) know about this. They will also notify me about this but if you want to notify me directly please leave a note in your child's planner- I'll see it at the end of the day when I check it!
Q: "I can't afford to send my student on the field trip, is there any assistance I can get with this?"
A: The school does everything it can to assist with the issue of money problems. I myself keep a small fund aside for this specific problem in my class but for me to help you we will need to have a sit down between me, the parent/guardian (you) and the school counselor to make sure we go along with the school policies. Beware though, I only have a finite about of money to put aside for field trips so sometimes your student just might have to stay behind with another first grade class or other options will be addressed at the meeting.
Q: "My student will be practicing in a religious holiday not listed in the school calendar, what can I do to ensure my student's grades don't get harmed from missing class?"
A: Please write me a note or E-mail me about this issue and we'll work something out, but rest assured that other than the absence your student will never be deducted any sort of points for missing a class day due to a holiday. Yes this includes all class tests other than state assigned tests (ex. FCATS), you will have to work with the main office on that front.
